Andy and I saw a very beautiful sunset on the way home from our Friday evening park playdate with Kayla. Thrilled to be back into a little routine of Friday picnics at the park, a perfect wind-down for the week, it was a most perfect evening of good behavior, great weather and even better friends. We were almost destined to see the spectacular sunset, a beautiful ending to a lovely evening.
Andy gasped and said “Oh, look at that sunset. It’s so beautiful”. Andy watched it until the trees blocked our view. Then he said, “Mommy, you are almost as beautiful as that sunset. Almost”. He was quite proud of his compliment.
The rest of the weekend was also quite lovely. Being housebound yesterday by Tropical Storm Hanna was just what we needed to ensure some downtime after the first week of school. We met Jodi, Ben, Garrett, Mandy, Danny (a.k.a. Dandy) and Bella out for dinner and came back to our house for some much-needed kid interaction. This morning, we had a playdate with Owen that overlapped a little with a playdate with Kayla. Great fun with great kids!

Birthday
At long last, I have uploaded the pictures from Andy’s birthday weekend. The birthday party was at Loudoun Fun Bounce, and was just as much fun as last year! On Sunday, Granny, Grandma (fresh from knee surgery), Uncle Bob and Auntie Betsy came down for dinner (swimming was cancelled due to bad weather).Below is the link for the birthday party pictures.
