It was a beautiful and sunny day today, and Andy, Kitty, Bear-Bear (yes, he's back in action) headed to the park. Andy rode his bike, Bear-Bear and Kitty peeked out of the Spidey back-pack attached to the front of Andy's bike and I walked along.
For those of you that don't know, Bear-Bear, a tiny Clifford the Big Red Dog, was Andy's first and favorite "pretend pet". He is a well-traveled friend, with destinations in Ireland, Mexico and many (and every) places in between. As a result of a broken collar several months ago, Bear-Bear fell out of favor, and has been waiting patiently on our dresser to be rediscovered ever since. Rediscovery happened last night. Andy and I spent quite some time talking about how special Bear-Bear is, how happy he has made us over the years and sharing funny Bear-Bear stories. It was a LONG bedtime last night. Substitute Bear-Bear with the tree, and our conversation went the way of Shel Silverstein's The Giving Tree.
On a lighter note, I took a bunch of photos of Andy running around the park, and you will see Bear-Bear and Kitty prominently featured. Pay close attention to the new collars both "little brothers" are sporting. Bear-Bear is sporting a plain black collar, which appropriately reflects his classic and solid persona; he has, after all, been very patient and stoic while Andy has been busy identifying all of the other "guys". Kitty, who has always been a little scamp, sports a more fun and playful rainbow collar.
